American Woodmark donates backpacks and school supplies to the Lincolnton community

September 7, 2021

Employees at American Woodmark’s Lincolnton, North Carolina plant came together to donate over 400 backpacks to local students for the 2021-2022 school year.

Over 20 volunteers from the Lincolnton team packed each backpack with school supplies for students kindergarten – 8th grade, including notebooks, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, and more.

“We were able to provide a backpack to everyone who wanted one for the children in their life for this school year,” said Lisa Bishop, Material Manager at the plant, who coordinated this year’s Operation Backpack 2021 program. “At American Woodmark Lincolnton, we are focused on growing our work family and taking care of our communities' needs."

In addition to school supplies, each backpack included a personalized note written by a team member wishing the student a happy school year.

The backpacks were distributed to the parents on August 18th, just in time for the start of the new school year.
