Woodmark welcomes Kim Coldiron as CHRO and VP of human resources

March 9, 2021

In March 2021, Kim Coldiron joined the American Woodmark team as our VP of HR and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Before joining our team, Kim was the CHRO for OmniMax International, a fabricator of metal, vinyl and fiberglass building products headquartered in Atlanta, Ga. She led the human resource function globally to create and execute an HR strategy focused on growth for employees, customers, and key stakeholders.

Kim has built a successful career in HR over the last 20 years performing leadership roles for companies such as Czarnowski, a full-service experiential marketing company with operations in North America, Europe, and Asia, global building material industry leader James Hardie Building Products and Navistar, Inc. an international commercial automotive company. Kim developed her early career at Sanyo, providing finance support and HR leadership across their North American compact disc business where she assisted with the development of multiple start-up ventures through the company’s incubator program.

Kim earned an MBA from Purdue’s Krannert School of Management. She also completed an international master’s degree in management from TIAS Business School in The Netherlands.

When asked what she was most looking forward to at American Woodmark, Kim said she is excited to learn more about the people and culture that made us the company we are today. She is really excited about the future of American Woodmark and being able to share from her experience and perspective to contribute to our growth and success as a great team.

A surprising fact about Kim? Her family hosted several foreign exchange students throughout her high school years and she herself was a foreign exchange student in Japan before her senior year of high school. Kim has a passion and curiosity for diverse cultures and has spent the last several years exploring and learning about many other parts of the world both as part of her professional career as well as in her personal life.

Kim’s family is not local to Virginia so when she isn’t working, finding time to visit friends and family is priority number one, followed closely by her love for international travel. On a regular day, she enjoys being active and loves the outdoors. She is always looking for a new walk/run/bike trail to explore, she also is a bit of a foodie!
